So Jesus responded, “I don’t teach my own ideas, but the truth revealed to me by the One who sent me. If you want to test my
teachings and discover where I received them, first be passionate to do God’s will, and then you will be able to discern if
my teachings are from the heart of God or from my own opinions. Jn 7:16-17

Got Fire? Need Lit?

Allow me to be frank about matters of the soul for just a second. There is a re-baked perspective going around that pops up with each new culture and it’s been going on for generations. Each time it circulates, men and women become just a little more diluted, a little more dissatisfied with life as we know it. Sooner or later, complacency sets in and the fire that once burned in our soul goes out. The problem with this scenario is that it has repeated over and over again, throughout our lifetime, and each time we place the blame on the abandonment of our ideals, Wall Street, Feminists, Washington, the Liberals, bad luck, our circumstances, failures, family, or anything else you can conjure up. The fact of the matter is, “In this world, you shall have tribulation!”

Here are the facts that surround “The Soul that has gone cold.”

Wall Street didn’t rob us of our future when they raped and pillaged our retirement accounts. Our hope and future is in Heaven. Christ said, “If I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself. That where I am, there you will be also!

Feminists didn’t rob us of love and affection when they poisoned women's hearts against men. What women were smart enough to realize is that men had misplaced their love and that his affections were set on other things! As men If our love would have been centered on the only One who can bring satisfaction, if our love would have been a response to what Christ did for us, feminists would never have become dissatisfied.

Washington didn’t rob us of our freedom when they legislated away our God-given rights one by one. All of our freedom is in Christ and if the Son has set you free, you are free indeed!

I could go on and on but I won't so, I’ll just get to the point. If there is no fire in your soul, if you are not passionate about your wife & kid's, your life, and your story, then you are not passionate about your relationship with God and it’s nobody’s fault but your own. You have let the fire go out!

The ONLY thing, The only ONE who can light a fire in your soul, bring satisfaction to your story, and empower you to be who you were created to be is Christ by His Holy Spirit. It’s time to reacquaint your self with His fire, passion, hope, and to fan the real source of your souls flame!

You will hear a lot of smart ideas about how to re-light the fire in your soul these day's and in fact I have probably just cut into someone's self-help book sales but, if those idea’s don’t immediately direct you to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith then, they will just suck you into the next cultural go around and always leave you striving for more when you could be experiencing rest, peace, hope, and satisfaction in Christ.

Luke 3:16
“John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:”

I've grown a little tired of all of the reformatted, re-packaged, pull yourself up by your bootstrap's, steps to recovering one's soul so I'm gonna make this simple!  Your heart thirsts for the Lord and your soul longs for God. Fan that flame and get lit!
